As part of its ongoing efforts to future-proof the independent aftermarket, LKQ Euro Car Parts has introduced a new, cloud-based version of its Garage Management Software (GMS), CarSys.
The system houses customer and vehicle databases, meaning technicians can easily look up MOT and service histories, as well as all the data needed for accurate quoting and invoicing.
Haynes Pro data is used to calculate prices and schedule jobs in the workshop, ensuring garages get the most out of each working day. The system also comes with a direct link to the full LKQ Euro Car Parts catalogue, facilitating 24/7 online parts look up and quick ordering. Other features include stock management, a help centre, and the ability to sync with leading accounting solutions, Sage and QuickBooks.

Using a cloud-based solution means there is no need for installation, and all information is saved securely and automatically. The system is accessed through the CarSys website and supported by a mobile app, meaning technicians can dip in and out between jobs.
Anthony McAteer added: “This has been a challenging few months for many garages, but the good news is that now restrictions are being relaxed, there’s a backlog of vehicles waiting to come through the workshop doors. Of those that were due, just 20 per cent of MOTs were completed in March this year, and 23 per cent in April, which means we expect demand to be as much as three times normal levels over the next few months.
