Sales Manager

Same as the General Manager and Branch Manager, the day starts bright and early at around 7.30am to ensure the branch team is ready for the start of the trading day at 8am.

After reviewing the previous day's trade and updating the month to date figures for the branch the General Manager, Branch Manager and Sales Manager hold a brief team meeting with the Sales Advisors regarding the previous days sales and current branch figures - to highlight any gaps, discuss current promotions that the team can sell on to our customers, talk about any ideas they have for increasing the sales and also highlight any issues that may occur.

The SM will then call any key account customers and take any incoming calls as necessary. A key part of the role also includes keeping an eye on the sales office, making sure that all calls are answered by the Sales Advisors, that they are dealt with swiftly and provide any support to the team as needed. An SM will also continually monitor the customer boards and sales boards, updating the figures every hour so that they can take action if targets fall behind.

The SM looks to maintain the highest sales office standards, develop talent within the sales team and support the team to maximise our profits at every opportunity throughout the day, every day! This would include focusing on top spending trade customers and local national accounts, as well as making sure that the relationship with the Branch Manager and the Operations team are as productive as possible to manage customer expectations. The customer is king, and time is money!

As the trading day comes to an end, the GM, BM and SM sit down with the team to review the day's numbers and discuss customers or issues to focus on the next day.
