LKQ Euro acquires Iris Coatings and 5 UK Distributors of Automotive Paint and Bodyshop Supplies

We are delighted to inform you about a significant event in the development of the UK Collision Repair Market. LKQ Corporation, the largest provider of aftermarket and recycled collision replacement parts and the second largest distributor of auto refinish paint in the US and Canada, has acquired 5 UK paint distributors from their private owners, representing 26 locations nationwide, via our subsidiary LKQ Euro, all effective from 6th August 2013.

The companies are:

- Bee Bee Refinishing Supplies Halstead Ltd (“Bee Bee”) - 3 branches in Eastern England

- JCA Coatings Ltd (“JCA”) - 9 branches in South / South West England and South Wales

- Milton Keynes Paint & Equipment Ltd (“MKPE”) - 5 branches in South East England

- Premier Paints Ltd (“Premier”) - 1 branch in Romford, Essex

- Sinemaster Motor Factors Ltd (“Sinemaster”) - 8 branches in Midlands / North England and Scotland

Resulting from these transactions, LKQ Euro has also gained a 100% shareholding in the sales & marketing specialist for refinishing distribution, iris.

These transactions extend our footprint significantly across the UK and drive up our expertise to support customers and develop our service at all levels in the industry with the addition of a range of market-leading, pioneering initiatives. The new grouping, 5 distribution companies with iris providing central support, has an average industry experience of over 26 years and is backed by 38 field-based technical trainers and specialists in health & safety / statutory compliance. The potential to expand further, to create additional opportunities and to enhance both existing and new customer relationships is considerable.

By grouping together some of the fastest-growing businesses in their sector, these acquisitions represent an important step in our goal to deliver the strongest value proposition enabling the collision repair industry, insurance companies and, of course, consumers to receive high quality products and exceptional service at competitive prices.

With the addition of paint and an extended range of consumables to the portfolio of LKQ Euro and Euro Car Parts, we are now able to provide almost all products a repairer would require to complete any mechanical or collision repair. No other company in the UK can match our comprehensive range of products. Furthermore, these can all be delivered next day, or even same day, helping customers minimise stock holding and reduce key-to-key times.
