Be part of the best business insight in Europe – LKQ data analytics team

We believe data analytics holds the key to solving some of the ‘big’ challenges our business faces – and so, LKQ Europe is about to embark on one it’s most transformational projects to date. We are looking for the best people to be part of the team.

Design, scope and build a methodology & prototype model suitable for adoption across LKQ Europe that can optimise our large-scale data sets. The model will be the basis in which LKQ Europe will create its data analytics platform (Phase 2).

The scope of this project extends to include conceptual proofing, financial data modelling and forming of the project plan for Phase 2.

Phase 1 will be a joint venture between LKQ Europe & Newcastle University’s newly formed Cloud Innovation Centre (the first of its kind in the UK) and LKQ Europe.

Management and implementation of LKQ Europe Data Analytics Platform, building on the model creation of Phase 1.

The platform will capitalise and harness the value of our ever-expanding data to enable robust and efficient data extraction, transformation, integration and analysis of a wide variety of data sources (internal / external, structured / unstructured). The outputs will be specific data based decision recommendations (possibly automated) to improve the business by at least 10%.

The initial project is expected to be a six-month collaboration between Newcastle University and LKQ Europe. Newcastle University will provide advice and assistance to the LKQ team throughout Phase 1. Thereafter, LKQ expects to have sufficient in-house knowledge to advance the project independently (Phase two).

Initially the project will include the team being seconded to the Newcastle University campus working closely with inter-disciplinary personnel from the University for approximately 6 months, beginning August 2017.  (Already Begin)

After the first 6 months the location will be confirmed but the interested personnel must be willing to travel to Europe

The initial LKQ team will consist of 5 -7 people.

1.     This person will likely have strong database management skills and an understanding of the LKQ business.

2.     Team members would include additional database/ science/ analytics/ IT backgrounds

3.     Individuals that possess commercial intellect, structured approach to their work, continuous drive, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team and who are willing to commit to this project long term are also invited to apply.
