C# Developer 

 

We are looking for a C# developer to join our Software Development team.

This person will work on projects for both internal and external customers and complete work such as; (but not limited to) system analysis, software development and maintenance, training and documentation.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, engaging with key members of the business across all departments including our parts and engineering division. Importantly, this should be a person who can adapt to an Agile approach where all significant projects are broken down into fixed length iterations and development is test driven.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Trading Systems and work within an intelligent, motivated team, possess good communication skills and be an effective problem solver. The team must be able to understand the needs of internal and external clients and their higher objectives to solve problems where not all the information is immediately available.

Development is primarily carried out using C# and the .Net framework, ASP.Net, WPF, MVC, Nancy, Winforms and Visual Studio 2015. Soon to migrate to Visual Studio 17. We use TFS for source control and Unit Test Driven Development

1.1     Key Tasks

  • Work as part of an expanding development team to ensure timely delivery of high quality software
  • Develop new projects and maintain existing systems using Visual Studio 2015
  • Employ Agile Methods
    • Use Project management systems such as Team Foundation Server
    • Employ Test Driven Development (TDD) on all development work
    • Deliver features/user stories to customer on completion
    • Mock-up user interfaces and engage in discussions with stakeholders to clarify requirements
    • Release features early and often
    • Adapt to changing requirements during project’s lifetime
  • Use WEB API RESTful services to communicate with MS SQL databases from front end systems

 

1.2     Critical Minimum Requirements
practical experience in the following

 

  • C# .NET
  • Experience of developing applications based by a database, e.g. Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012/2016
  • RESTful web services
  • WPF
  • MVVM
  • TFS

1.3     Desirable Characteristics

·       Knowledge of Test Driven Development

·       Agile software development techniques

·       T-SQL

·       SQL Server 2016

Salary: £35,000 pa

The role will be based at: Tamworth, Staffordshire with a view to relocate late 2017 to Horsley Northumberland.
