Key Objective

The eCommerce Business Analyst will lead analysis & design activities for IT solutions in the eCommerce, and other intersecting channels, as we embark upon a major reengineering and platform change programme commensurate with Euro Car Parts continued growth and global expansion.

 

Formally the role includes: to elicit, analyse, specify, and validate the business needs of project stakeholders. Including interviewing stakeholders, document and workflow analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, software selection, business process definition and use case production. They will act as the conduit between the business users and the development teams, ensuring that project deliverables are met according to the agreed and documented business requirement, and supporting the change around the deployment of new business processes.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Depending on assignment, Business Analysts will perform duties related to the following:

·       Collaborate with project managers and project sponsors to understand/determine project scope and vision, plan for changes/upgrades/new requirements.

·       Work with Senior Stakeholders to document and illustrate business processes. Prepare and maintain process documentation in relation to adhoc technical and business aspects of the main supported system (s)

·       Clearly identify project stakeholders and establish user classes, as well as their characteristics.

·       Conduct interviews to gather user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.

·       Provide support to the business on the technical aspects relating to the main supported system(s).

·       Be the liaison point for any issues found by the business and review/reproduce these issues before forwarding onto the 3rd Party supplier.

·       Assist with the preparation of user requirements via a formal and informal business analysis package

·       Prepare any internal documentation relating to changes or new requirements

·       Hold workshops with 3rd Party suppliers and business where necessary for new requirements

·       Create and follow UAT procedures

·       Understand inter-dependencies with IT and 3rd Party Suppliers

·       Identify risks and dependencies early and proactively bring them to the leadership team’s attention

·       Develop and nurture strong business relationships with operational level clients to support elicitation and management of business requirements  

 

Experience Requirements

      Mandatory:

·       Experience in the role of Business Analysis

·       Experience of Customer facing Projects i.e. eCommerce and Customer Portal

 

Essential:

·       Experience in presenting solutions in a positive manner to all levels within an organisation, e.g. Director level through to operational administration level

·       Data analysing skills

·       Expert ability to present ideas effectively, either orally or in writing.

·       Expert ability to utilise personal computer programs,  e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access

·       Take a lead role in translating IT technical issues into language and business models that the business will understand and liaise with the IT representatives to exploit new technologies on behalf of the business

·       Facilitate and negotiate business change buy-in from Directors and other key stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation and change

·       Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.

·       Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, at multiple levels and across multiple disciplines

·       Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail.

·       Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

·       Capable of working to both tactical and strategic timescales

·       Adaptable. The role requires a willingness to take on tasks outside of a narrowly defined role, and ideally a desire to be multi-skilled

 

      Advantageous:

·       Exposure to working in an eCommerce environment

·       Experience with fast moving and growing organisations, and/or that you have experience working in retail organisations understanding the priorities and nature of the services provided.

·       Experience with multiple eCommerce implementations/operations, and preferably from that having experience with more than one eCommerce platform/solution (e.g. IBM WebSphere Commerce, ATG, Demandware, hybris, bespoke-build, Magento etc)

·       Ability to produce test plans for SIT and Regression testing and be able to assist the business in the production of their UAT plans, where appropriate

·       Ability to plan and complete assignments within deadlines.

·       Ability to make routine decisions in accordance with policies and procedures.

·       Ability to recognise and correct deviations from operating practices and procedures

·       Ability to review operational procedures and offer/initiate improvements

·       Knowledge of program analysis, evaluation, research methods and statistics.

·       Experienced with the lifecycle in an agile / scrum environment, desirably with experience also of traditional structured programmes.

·       Knowledgeable about the latest in eCommerce solutions and who’s doing what, and full of ideas about how the best in eCommerce can be achieved
